Who We Are

As a custom gate manufacturer based in Port Kells, Surrey, we've been building driveway gates since 1994. We design, fabricate, and install cantilever, sliding, swing, telescopic, bi-fold, and radius gates for properties across the Lower Mainland and the Fraser Valley. Every gate leaves our facility built for the property it's going onto, not pulled off a shelf.

From a Surrey Garage to Port Kells

Gate-F/X started small. The first gates we built came out of the owner's home garage, one order at a time, long before we had a facility to call our own. Three decades later we've moved that same work into two warehouse bays in Port Kells, where we now handle everything from design through fabrication and installation under one roof.

Having our own shop means we control the parts of the job that determine how a gate performs ten and twenty years down the road: the steel we choose, the way it's finished, and the fit against the actual driveway, slope, and soil it's installed on. We've kept that same hands-on approach as the business has grown, and it's still how we approach every project that comes through our doors today.

What We Build

We manufacture in aluminum. The powder coating itself is applied in the colour a client chooses and holds up to Lower Mainland weather without chipping or fading the way paint does.

Across those materials, we offer:

We also design, supply, and install gate automation, and we repair and maintain existing gates, including ones another company originally installed. If a client wants fencing to match their new gate, we build custom fencing systems alongside it so the whole entranceway reads as one piece rather than a gate bolted onto an unrelated fence line.

Where Our Gates Go: Residential, Commercial, and Industrial Work

Most of our work is residential. We build entranceway gates for single properties across BC, and because every driveway has its own grade, width, and sightlines, we assess the site before we design anything rather than defaulting to a standard layout.

On the commercial side, we plan, design, and install gate solutions for businesses that need controlled access without slowing down regular traffic in and out of the property. That usually means pairing the gate itself with automation that's sized for how often it will cycle in a working day.

Industrial jobs are where the site conditions get demanding: wider spans, heavier loads, and perimeter requirements that have to hold up under constant use. We listen to what the site actually needs, whether that's a cantilever gate that clears a rough grade without a track in the way or an automated system built around a client's budget and timeline, and we build to that rather than to a generic spec sheet.
